The Mayfield War Memorial is situated in the churchyard at the Parish Church which is dedicated to St John the Baptist. Two names of men of the Yorkshire Regiment are recorded on this memorial.
The names of all the fallen are as below, together with the memorial's dedication;-

Private Joseph Harrison. 48098. 2nd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 5/27957 5th T R Battalion. Son of Joseph and Mary Harrison, of Upper Mayfield, Ashbourne, Derbyshire. Killed 21 March 1918. Aged 19.
Born Mayfield, Enlisted Derby, Resided Barwick (Ashbourne)
Commemorated Panel 31 and 32, Pozieres Memorial.

Private William Charles Moss, 60757. 4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of James Moss and the late Ann Elizabeth Moss, of Mayfield. Died at home 24 June 1918. Aged 19.
Born Mayfield (Staffs), Enlisted Leek (Stoke-on-Trent), Resided Okeover (Ashbourne)
