Richard Roberts (<richard@nosnailshere.co.uk>) has forwarded a photo of the Ockbrook and Borrowash War Memorial for Derby. Richard provides the following information on this memorial;-

"This war memorial is situated on Victoria Avenue between the two villages. There are 82 names of local men who died in WW1 commemorated on it including that of Pte Samuel Brown, - formerly of the Yorkshire Regiment."


Private Samuel Brown. G14574. 10th (R. East Kent and West Kent Yeomanry) Bn. The Buffs (East Kent Regiment), formerly G/87612 17th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Killed 14 October 1918.
Born Chesterfield (Derby), Enlisted Derby, Resided Borrowash (Derby).
Buried LAPUGNOY MILITARY CEMETERY.
