The War Memorial for Denver, Fordham, Ryston, Roxham, and Bexwell is situated in the centre of the village of Denver (Norfolk). The memorial is a cross on a multi-sided plinth.

25 Denver names are commemorated on the memorial as having lost their lives in the First World War, with 7 from Fordham and 1 each from Ryston, Roxham and Bexwell. 6 names are commemorated for the Second World War.

We are very grateful to Peter Clarke who has provided the photos of the memorial. Peter Clarke has also provided extensive biographical information on the names that are commemorated.

One soldier who served with the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on this memorial (together with two his brothers).

Born Denver (Downham Market - Norfolk), Enlisted Norwich, Resided Denver.
Buried PESHAWAR (Right) B.C. XLV. 22.
Commemorated DELHI MEMORIAL (INDIA GATE).
