There is a memorial headstone in St. Luke's Churchyard, Whaley Thorns (Derbyshire), to the Overton family.
Commemorated on this memorial is a soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment, who died whilst a prisoner-of-war.

Private William Alma Overton. 34871. 12th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment, formerly 77538 91st T R Battn. Son of Richard and Mary Ann Overton. Died 15 June 1918. Aged 19.
Born Langwith (Derby), Enlisted Mansfield, Resided Langwith.
Buried NIEDERZWEHREN CEMETERY.
