Private Arthur Overment. 240709. 5th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Son of Robert & Agnes Overment, of Kirk Ella, Hull. Died at home 24 October 1919. Aged 24.
Born Tickton, Enlisted Driffield.

(Additional information : Service Record exists. Enlisted 7 October 1914. Wounded, - GSW right thigh, January 1916. POW October 1918.)

Adjoining Private Arthur Overment's headstone is one for Private John William Overment, L/15625, of the Royal Field Artillery who died on 3 January 1919 aged 25. From the 1901 Census data, these two men would appear to have been brothers but this is not made clear in the CWGC data.
