South Sields (St. Stephen) Churchyard contains 11 burials from both the First and Second World Wars. Of these, 10 burials are for the First World War and include one soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment.

The war graves plot is all that remains of the original cemetery, with the cemetery having been grassed over apart from the war graves enclosure.

We are very grateful to Bill Hartman (<hartman045@hotmail.com>) for forwarding the photos of Private Foster's headstone and the cemetery, and for allowing the use of these photos.
