Murton (Holy Trinity) Churchyard contains 15 Commonwealth War Graves from both World Wars. Two of the burials are for soldiers who served with the Yorkshire Regiment.

Rather curiously, the churchyard in Murton has been ascribed as being in Dalton-le-Dale by other people. For instance, the War Graves Photographic Project refers to the churchyard as Dalton-le-Dale (Holy Trinity). The church in Dalton-le-Dale is St. Andrew's. For complete accuracy, the churchyard in question is most definitely Murton (Holy Trinity).

Private Thomas Jackson, 18597. 6th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Died at home 31 March 1920.

The only other information on Private Jackson is that he was wounded first in October 1916 and then again in January 1917. His Medal Rolls Index Card says that he entered the conflict in November 1915 in the Balkans, - e.g. Gallipoli. This would place him as being in the 6th Battalion.
