Right at the head of Bransdale, in the tiny hamlet of Cockayne, you can find
the Church of St. Nicholas. There is a single War Grave in the cemetery, - still
tended and looked after. The grave belongs to Colour Sergeant A P Wilson
of the 4th Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Details are below;-

Percy Wilson, MSM 4th Battalion Yorkshire Regt. Died 2 December 1918 Aged 34 Son of Thomas and Emma Wilson of Great Ayton Husband of Muriel Wilson of the Old Parsonage, Bransdale. Enlisted Stokesley, Resided Kirbymoorside. (his grave is shown on the right) |
