Yorkshire Regiment War Graves, - St. Hilda's Church, Ampleforth

There are 2 War Graves in the churchyard of St. Hilda's, Ampleforth. One of these graves is that of Private George Worthy of the Yorkshire Regiment. The headstone is unusual in that it is not of the standard Commonwealth War Graves style, but is obviously one specially commissioned by George Worthy's family.

Private George Henry Worthy 12853 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regt. Died 19 November 1915. Aged 23 years. Born Ampleforth, Enlisted Malton, Resided Middlesbrough (his grave is shown on the right)
