The Boroughbridge War Memorial is in the form of a square column, with the statue of a lady on its top, situated in the town's Hall Square. The memorial is inscribed;-

"In memory of the Boroughbridge Men, who gave their lives for their Country in the Great War 1914 - 1918. This monument is erected by their fellow-townsmen and friends.
"The Lord hath done great things by them." Eccl 44.2"

On one side of the memorial is found the following inscription;-
"The Committee of the Boroughbridge Nursing Institution, on behalf of the inhabitants of the District, desire, with grateful appreciation, to record on this War Memorial the endowment of a ward with three beds in the Harrogate Infirmary for the use of the District. In memory of Capt C S Haslam a tablet has been placed in the ward which reads -
In memory of Charles Stanley Haslam, Captain Yorkshire Hussars, of Heaton House, Boroughbridge, Killed in Action November 10th 1917."


Private Guy Wardley, 10468. 2nd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Son of John and Lilian Wardley, of St. James's Square, Boroughbridge, Yorks. Killed on 12 March 1915. Aged 19.
Born Boroughbridge, Enlisted Malton, Resided Boroughbridge
Commemorated Panel 12, Le Touret Memorial.

2nd Lieut John Finlayson White
. 6th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. Killed on 7 August 1915.
Brother of Captain Archie Cecil Thomas White, VC, also of the 6th Battalion. Captain Archie White was with John F White with the Battalion at Gallipoli, but was ill with dysentery at the time of the action in which his brother was killed. Captain Archie White survived the War.
