Inside St. Anne's Church, Bishop Auckland, is a plaque commemorating those who lost their lives in both World Wars.
The plaque is of wood, with a blue border with the blocks separated by a flower motif. The names for 1914-1918 are commemorated are in 4 columns; those for 1939-1945 are in two lines beneath these.
All lettering is incised and gilded, using Roman capitals.

49 names are commemorated as having lost their lives in the First World War, and 7 in the Second World War.

Rather curiously, there are no names for soldiers who served in the Yorkshire Regiment even though 73 names of Yorkshire Regiment soldiers are to be found in Bishop Auckland's Book of Remembrance.
