The Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in Airton is located on the road from Kirkby Malham to Coniston Cold. However, the chapel closed for religious worship in 2007 and is now used as a nursery.

One soldier of the Yorkshire Regiment is commemorated on this memorial.

Private Farrand EARNSHAW. 27500. 10th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment.
Son of Mrs. Jane Earnshaw, of West Bank, Kirkby Malham, Bell Busk, Leeds. Killed 1 July 1916. Aged 26.
Born Skipton, Enlisted Keighley, Resided Bell Busk (Nr Leeds).
Commemorated Pier and Face 3 A and 3 D, THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
